Crowns are custom-made “caps” used to cover, protect, and support a tooth. They can be used for repairing large areas of decay, after a root canal, on top of a dental implant, or restoring a cracked or chipped tooth.

Fixed Bridges are an effective way to replace a missing tooth and help maintain proper alignment and chewing function. Both teeth on either side of the missing tooth receive crowns with another prosthetic tooth suspended between them and cemented into place.

Root Canal Therapy is necessary to save the natural tooth structure. The infected nerves and tissues in the roots of a tooth are cleaned out and sealed, and then a dental crown is placed on top for protection. New technology has made this treatment faster and easier than ever.

Dental Implants are the best way to replace a tooth, preserve oral function, and prevent bone and tissue loss. A titanium implant is surgically placed into the jaw, and then a dental crown is attached on top. Implants can replace a tooth completely from root to crown, preventing neighboring teeth from shifting and stopping bone resorption.

Dental Restorations FAQ

Evaluation of Your Medical and Oral Health History

Any procedure or treatment performed to keep your oral health in optimal condition. Many restorations also resolve cosmetic concerns or repair damage from trauma.

If a filling is small, it can be replaced three or four times, but if it is large probably only once. If a filling constantly needs replacing it may be time to consider a different restorative option like a crown.

Anything more extensive than a filling such as crowns, dentures, and bridges, or any service done to replace a missing tooth.

With regular dental care, many restorations can last 10-15 years. To make your fillings, crowns, and implants last as long as possible, maintain good oral hygiene habits and visit our office at least once every six months.

Amalgam is strong, durable, and less expensive than most other types of materials. Composite fillings are white, so they match the natural color of teeth, which makes them the most popular option. New technology has also improved durability, so dentists prefer them too!

Should your teeth ever require a restorative treatment, you can rest assured knowing we will always discuss with you the available options, and recommend what we believe to be the most comfortable and least invasive treatment. Providing you with excellent care is our number one priority when creating your beautiful smile.
